CoM Shutdown

I'm somewhat relieved that I already began to look for a new game, but on the other hand, I'm pissed that they decided to shut it down before putting the new area in. Everyone who's had a hand in the building, could you try saving the descs of everything that's in there? And someone try to convince Caym to take over the game instead, it might be a happier trip for everyone.

*edit* everyone log on CoM if they can, we're partying until the game goes down.

*edit edit* I will be making all the logs on this LJ public. Thanks for reading...

As you said everyone does have a limit. It's just a waste that I guess the game won't be moving into someone else's hands for the benefit of the players...this has happened once before to my character, with MatrixMUSH, and in about the same timeframe (a year?) so this is the second time I'll be moving elsewhere because a game shut down...

I will miss the fun I had on this game though.

It was especially unexpected, considering the fact that CoM really started to go better.
Would I try to prevent such? Sure. Will I? Barely. The word had been said, so be it.
As an old player, clanleader and member of RP team I tried to turn CoM better. Maybe I could try harder, but well. I have had very good time on CoM, as most players I know had.
So, if CoM cannot be a good MUD to play, let it be at least a good thing to recall.
I believe I have made some friends amongst players, and I enjoy talking to them. Maybe, once we shall meet on another MUD.
Don't forget an old, grumpy PK monger ;)

Grumpy old. lol. The one thing I counted on, as I cycled on and off trhough the years, was your characters, Aravath's characters and Baladon's characters. Somehow I remember a great lot of them. I still owe you an email.

CoM won't be going. New management etc etc, announcements will be made at a later date.

This was rather unexpected. I kept hearing about the game changing management but didn't count on it really closing down. I might as well return and play the last few hours it's still accessible. :)

Thanks for everything you've done in this game. I did have fun.

It seems that the old medeival fantasy thing has slowly and surely been disappearing over the years in just about any format. And if it still exists, it's some hybrid thing, or just not... the same.

Still, it's suprising. :O
And I'm not quite sure what happened, but yeah. It's his decision.

Anyway, I guess I better log on and save the few room descs and things that I did. I'm assuming they won't be put up now.

I have commencement rehersal and a slew of relatives will be decending on me this weekend so I don't know how much I'll be able to save. I'll try to do some, though. How much do you have?

I think I did a room walkthrough, but will be doing it again just to make sure. I have all the stats and info on the object vnums (not for code ripoff purposes but well, we did put in some hours on those things!)

Wow just when I was learning and making friends on this MUD poof. Oh well. Let me know if you guys find a good MUD. Cause now I will have alot of free time without CoM.
